Reports in Turkey suggest a Mario Gomez U-Turn, and the striker will return to Besiktas from Fiorentina.
The German striker spent last season on loan in Istanbul, but decided not to return for the forthcoming campaign due to the volatile political situation in Turkey.
However, Milliyet is now reporting that a transfer is 90 per cent agreed, and the forward will return to Besiktas.
It’s thought Gomez will be given a €6.5m per season contract, while the Viola have agreed a fee of €3.5m, dropping their asking price from €5m.
The final stumbling block is believed to be the structure of the transfer fee, as Besiktas would like to stagger the payments while the Viola want a lump sum.
