Leicester City have dived into the race between Inter and Juventus for Gabriel Barbosa, offering €27m for the Santos striker.

The centre-forward is currently taking part in the Rio Olympics with Brazil and any decision is unlikely before that tournament is completed.

According to Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, Leicester made a formal proposal worth €27m last night.

That is €2m more than the figure so far put forward by Inter.

It is being mulled over by Santos and the player, full name Gabriel Barbosa but more commonly known by his nickname Gabigol.

Inter, Juventus and Barcelona believed they were the only sides still standing in the battle for Gabigol, but Claudio Ranieri’s Leicester City appear to have thrown a spanner in the works.
