Cristian Chivu admits he’s open to a call from new Inter Coach Frank de Boer. “I know him very well.”

The former Ajax and Nerazzurri defender is keeping a close eye on his old club after De Boer was drafted in to replace Roberto Mancini today.

“I know Frank very well, but I haven’t heard from anyone so far,” Chivu told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am in Spain on vacation and am happy just spending time with my family. Could I join the Inter staff? If they called me…”

Chivu was also asked to comment on the unusual timing of Mancini’s departure by mutual consent, just two weeks before the start of the Serie A season.

“I always follow Inter, but I prefer not to comment on what is happening within the club.”
