Marco Borriello had a dream debut, as Cagliari crushed Spal in the Coppa Italia.

The former Milan striker was making his competitive debut for the Isolani, and scored four times as they swept past the Serie B side 5-1.

Borriello opened the scoring with a left-footed shot on 24 minutes, before Marco Sau doubled the lead for Massimo Rastelli's men.

Borriello’s header made it 3-0 just before the break, before the striker secured his hat-trick on 65 minutes.
