SportItalia go further, claiming his father-agent has agreed personal terms and is pushing for the Serie A transfer, but Samp are baulking at the €8m price-tag considering his contract will expire in June 2017.

Praet has also been linked with Roma and Lazio.

The Blucerchiati have been very active over the last few days, bringing in Bruno Fernandes from Udinese today.

Praet has one senior cap for Belgium and plays primarily behind the strikers, but can also work well on the right or left.

He left Genk for Anderlecht’s youth academy in 2010 and his contract is due to expire at the end of this season.
