Milan and Inter have been taken over by Chinese investors, but continue to struggle.

“It is inevitable in today’s football, but no Milan fan can criticise Silvio Berlusconi for what he’s done over 30 years. The Chinese groups have a lot of money and the desire to invest in order to win.

“It’s right that Inter and Milan get back to the top of European football. From the outside, it’s not nice to see them so low down.

“This season I see Juventus, Roma and Napoli on the Scudetto podium. In terms of Capocannoniere, I’d give the advantage to Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala, but this year I have faith in Edin Dzeko too.”

Pescara are back in the top flight and Verratti is cheering on his hometown club.

“I hope my Pescara can be the surprise package, as they have many talented youngsters from Gianluca Caprari to Rey Manaj. I really like Lucas Torreira, who last year did well at Pescara, and I hope Sampdoria can put their faith in him.”
