Napoli and Fiorentina have a number of possibilities when setting up the exchange of Nikola Kalinic for Manolo Gabbiadini.

The Viola are looking to sell one of their big names to balance their accounts, and Roma's elimination from the Champions League means a deal for Borja Valero is almost certainly off the table.

Numerous sources suggest that Napoli are taking the opportunity to swoop in for Kalinic, and may pick him up in a swap deal.

Numerous sources suggest that Napoli are taking the opportunity to swoop in for Kalinic, and may pick him up in a swap deal.

Gabbiadini would then move on to Fiorentina, under the condition that Paulo Sousa's formation would let him play consistently as a starter.

Sources differ as to the nature of the deal. Fiorentina expect to get some cash out of the exchange, and may give Kalinic in exchange for the Italian striker plus €10m, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

But La Repubblica reports that the Partenopei aren't worried about keeping expenses down, as the sale of Gonzalo Higuain and the repartition of Roma's lost Champions League money left their coffers brimming.

They may therefore buy Kalinic outright for €25m, and give Gabbiadini over on a loan basis.

Everton, in the meantime, look on from the sidelines, as they are believed to be willing to offer €30m for Napoli's striker.
