The Bianconeri had a meeting with the Parisian club yesterday, on the occasion of the Champions League draw, and sporting director Beppe Marotta was left feeling optimistic about the midfielder's transfer.

In spite of that, the Gazzetta dello Sport reports today that the Italian offer of €25m for the player was turned down, at least for the moment.

The reasons are technical rather than financial, as the higher echelons within PSG believe that the player may still be precious to the team. President Nasser Al Khelaifi in particular is believed to be dubious about the move.

The Parisians haven't entirely shut their doors to Juventus, but the deal is not as certain or as likely as some sources earlier believed.
