President Massimo Ferrero claims Sampdoria “are the victims” and not Antonio Cassano, as he pushes the player towards Serie B.

FantAntonio is still under contract, but has been told to find another club and isn’t even allowed into the team locker room.

“I left Antonio in June. I was told he’d leave if Vincenzo Montella was no longer the Coach, that he’d go to where they needed a champion, so why is he bad-mouthing us now?” Ferrero told Rai 2.

“He is the Prince Cassano, it’s Sampdoria who are the victims. I expect him to come to me and say thank you for having taken him back to Samp.

“Now he should go and help another club in Serie B that wants to come up to Serie A. It’s no dishonour to play in Serie B.”

The most likely destinations for Cassano are Virtus Entella or his hometown club Bari.
