Gianluigi Buffon describes Nice-bound Mario Balotelli as “humble”, Gianluigi Donnarumma “a chosen one” and ex-Juventus teammate Paul Pogba “a leader”.
Buffon was present alongside Italy boss Giampiero Ventura at Wednesday’s Press conference for the Azzurri’s friendly against France in Bari the following evening, and among the questions he faced was one about Balotelli’s impending move to Nice.
“There’s a new project, and we’re ready to make our quality available to the CT,” the veteran said.
“When you feel you still have something to give then you’re ready for a new project.
“It’s important to be mentally ready for a match like France-Italy.
“Balotelli made a humble choice [in joining Nice], he can demonstrate his talent there.
“This is the most difficult phase of World Cup qualifying in my career. Donnarumma is a chosen one.
“Pogba was a leader at Juve, he’ll be one Man Utd and more so for France.
“We have the desire to cry again, but [cry] with joy.”
