Milan will begin their search for a new sporting director next week, with four serious candidates.

Marco Fassone has already signed a preliminary contract to become the Rossoneri's new director general, and among his tasks there will be that of reforming the club's hierarchies.

With joint-CEO and market guru Adriano Galliani almost certainly on his way out, Milan will need a new sporting director.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, they have a list of strong candidates, and the first name is that of Inter's Piero Ausilio.

It's uncertain whether anything will come of that particular lead, as Ausilio should be offered a contract renewal with his current club next week.

An alternative that should not present that type of problem is Daniele Prade. The former Fiorentina man is currently a free agent, and he'd probably look into an offer by Milan with considerable interest.

Bologna's Riccardo Bigon and Sampdoria's Carlo Osti are another two alternatives, though oddly enough the Gazzetta makes no mention of Walter Sabatini, who could very well depart Roma at the end of the season.
