This Week 1 game was postponed because at the time Pisa technically didn’t have a club.

Takeover talks had faltered, Coach Gattuso had left and the players had no money to make the trip to Terni.

Last week the situation was finally resolved with Victor Pablo Dana taking ownership of the Tuscan club and they debuted with a 1-0 win over Novara on Sunday.

However, this evening’s rescheduled tie got off to the worst possible start when Luca Crescenzi brought down Cesar Falletti for a penalty and straight red card within four minutes.

Felipe Avenatti converted the penalty and it proved to be the only goal for Benito Carbone’s team, though Daniele Mannini caused a scare with his potential equaliser ruled offside.

Ternana 1-0 Pisa

Avenatti pen 6 (T)

Sent off: Crescenzi 4 (P)
