Marseille reportedly want Rudi Garcia, but his Roma contract could block any move.

The French Coach was sacked by the Giallorossi in January of this year, replaced by Luciano Spalletti.

It is normal practice in Italy for a tactician to be retained on his contract until he finds another club, thus saving his previous club from having to pay him off.

Garcia was under contract until 2018 on a salary of €2.5m per season, something which the Lupi are continuing to pay as he looks for a new job.

According to RMC Sport, Marseille are interested in his services, but the contract could be a stumbling block as they are unlikely to pay that kind of salary.

Garcia would therefore have to accept a substantial paycut to join l’OM, or simply wait for a more attractive offer.
