“We need to read the game well, because I’m not sure whether Bologna will sit back and wait for us or attack within our half. That’s why it is important we must try to impose our style on the game.
“I can only speak highly of Roberto Donadoni. His teams play very well and always aim to keep the ball on the ground. Bologna are very strong with a lot of individual quality, but we have to focus on our own football.
“Every game will be fundamental in our season and we must work to whittle down our defects. I still have two or three doubts for my line-up, so I’ll only decide right before kick-off.”
Joao Pedro and Daniele Dessena are still absent, but forward Federico Melchiorri returns from injury.
“Joao Pedro’s injury caused us a few problems, as he’s so important both when attacking and defending, but I think he’ll be back training with the group from Tuesday.”
Cagliari fought back from 2-0 down to hold Roma 2-2 before the break for international duty, but are still looking for their first victory.
