The Croatia international was surprisingly left off the squad list, reportedly due to ‘unprofessional behaviour.’

It’s not clear what happened, but his agent denied there was an incident and Brozovic went on Instagram last night to declare he was “excluded for no reason!!!”

Brozovic had already been close to Juventus over the summer, but Inter did not want to sell him to reinforce a direct rival.

The same situation occurred in Turin, where Lichtsteiner was determined to join Inter and has been left off the Champions League squad list.

The Swiss Express’ contract expires at the end of the season, so January is the last chance to sell him for a profit.

While neither club wanted to send a strong player to their rivals, the current situation could prompt a rethink.
