Alvaro Morata confirms Antonio Conte wanted him a second time over the summer as Chelsea bid €70m, but his “dream” was always to stay at Real Madrid.

Morata was heavily linked with Chelsea once Madrid had bought him back from Juventus, Conte having been their Coach at the time of the striker’s arrival in Turin, and he hinted he would have joined the Blues had Los Blancos discarded him.

“Chelsea showed the most interest in signing me,” he told Sport Bild.

“They offered roughly €70m, but Real Madrid said they had me in their plans and that was always my dream.”
