The Partenopei were top of the Serie A table for only a few days, as they were pegged back at Marassi and Juventus have leapfrogged them.

“We commanded the match for 85 minutes,” a visibly irritated Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“At the end we paid a little for tiredness and the team got stretched out seeking the victory, allowing two very dangerous Genoa counter-attacks.

“Genoa are a tough opponent, they play in a physical and intense manner. We created a lot and were unlucky in a few incidents.

“It does disappoint me that I am the one who always has to talk about it, but we should’ve had two penalties. Ocampos didn’t just touch the ball with his hand in the box, he practically embraced it. There was also a foul on (Arek) Milik and it was potentially a red card situation too.

“I would like the club to intervene and make itself heard, because it’s not my job to talk about these things all the time.

“It was a very difficult trip, but for 85 minutes we had a good game. I cannot let my judgment of the performance be determined by the final five minutes.

“I am just disappointed that I always have to talk about these things. When I enter the Press conference, you ask me about these incidents and I am unable to just say nothing.

“If I get two games wrong and go home, that’s one thing, but in the last two away fixtures I’ve seen things that were tough to swallow.

“I just want to talk about football, not come off as the guy who always complains.”
