The Friulani were thrashed at the Dacia Arena last night and fans staged an angry protest at the final whistle.

“We are to blame and a change of Coach will not help,” Danilo told Mediaset Premium.

“Enough alibis, enough talk, we just need to be more determined and honour the Udinese shirt. This is what I say, as captain of the team.

“When the side did well and beat Milan at San Siro, it was Iachini’s victory. Now that things are going wrong people are blaming him, but that’s not the case. We players step on to the pitch and the fault is ours.

“It’s a young team, but that’s no excuse when there are so many internationals here. We must show pride to emerge from this situation along with our Coach.

“Changing Coach five times in three years is no good. How are we supposed to work in those conditions? There’s a break for international duty now and we’ll take that time to work hard on fixing these issues.”

There are reports that Stefano Pioli is being lined up to take over if Iachini is axed.
