Giuseppe Rossi's agent has discussed the striker’s potential move to Barcelona, while addressing his situation with Fiorentina.
The Italian international was linked with a move to Catalonia, but ultimately ended up staying with Villarreal, before suffering a series of knee injuries.
"It was basically all done with Barcelona, we had an agreement on the details of the contract, then some details emerged and everything collapsed,” Federico Pastorello told Gianluca Di Marzio’s website.

“Pepito was coming off a great season at Villarreal, but he had some small problems. They had to pick between him and Alexis Sanchez, in the end they took the Chilean. It’s too bad because we were very close to closing."
With Rossi currently at Celta Vigo on loan with an option to make the move permanent, Pastorello was then asked about the possibility of a return to Fiorentina in the future.
"In Florence it went they way it did, I think at this point the chapter with the Viola is over,” he continued. “The national team? It's the objective for any player, so Giuseppe is hopeful. At the moment there hasn't been a contact with [CT Giampiero] Ventura."
