Lazio are reportedly set to review Stefan de Vrij’s contract for five years with a €35m release clause.
The Dutch defender’s current deal holds him to the Aquile until June 2018.
According to Il Messaggero newspaper, the club is ready to propose a new contract to 2021.
This would include a release clause set at €35m.
Chelsea had tried to sign De Vrij over the summer, but Lazio turned down all offers.
He missed most of last season with a knee injury, but has played all seven of this term’s games.
