Francesco Guidolin admits he “thought I’d have been given more time” at Swansea City, but wants another Premier League job.

The former Udinese Coach had retired to be a director due to stress, but returned to the bench at Swansea in January and rescued the side from relegation.

That didn’t prevent the club from pulling the plug on him earlier this month.

“I thought I’d have been given more time, but these things happen in football,” Guidolin told Sky Sport Italia.

“I thought I’d have been given more time, but these things happen in football,” Guidolin told Sky Sport Italia.

“I wasn’t the first and I certainly won’t be the last to experience this, even if I am somewhat unaccustomed to this situation, as fortunately in my career things usually went well.

“I am happy with my experience in the Premier League. I met many people who were moved by my situation, telling me they were disappointed, that I didn’t deserve to be fired and they wanted me to remain. They felt I was one of them. I was happy there, a bit like I was at Udinese.

“In future I’d like to continue working in the Premier League, as the atmosphere is fantastic. I had offers from four or five Italian clubs, but I felt the need to have an experience abroad.”
