Bonucci was originally left out of the squad so he could spend time with his family after infant son Matteo’s recent health issues, but was brought in earlier today when Giorgio Chiellini sustained a thigh injury.

“I won’t get to rest, but that’s fine,” the centre-back told Mediaset Premium.

“I like to always be with my teammates. In fact, I was a bit jealous sitting at home, but it has been an unusual time. Now Matteo is feeling good and we are all happy.

“Tonight my family is here in the stadium and that is the best news for me.”

Earlier this afternoon Roma earned a 3-1 victory away to Napoli, surging into second place, but it means Juve can further increase their lead at the top of the table.

“Tonight we want to win and send a signal to everyone in Serie A. We have to keep growing game by game.”

Udinese are making their debut under new Coach Gigi Del Neri, who had a brief spell on the Juventus bench in 2010-11.

“He will have studied us, as he usually does. It’s up to us to hit Udinese in their weak points. We must focus on winning, then after that we can think about Lyon.”
