It had been rumoured that the 41-year-old might make a return to the club in an official position, but this is now expected to be handed to Giancarlo Antognoni. Despite this, the Dane did not rule out a return to Florence in the future.

"Fiorentina? I have only seen the results, but not the games," Jorgensen told Radio Blu. "We are always waiting for the team to find consistency, but they give little to inspire their fans, even those further away from Florence like me.

"This year there is room to fight for third or fourth place, but we need continuity.

"The important thing is that the coach finds balance. [Federico] Bernardeschi and [Cristian] Tello? They have had ups and downs, like the rest of the team.

"You have to put them in a position to give their best, they are strong in one on one situations.

"I have a friendly relationship with the club, but there is no professional one although I still follow Fiorentina. A future in purple? You never know."
