Inter continue their meetings for a new Coach to replace Frank de Boer, but Tuttosport look to the future and see Jose Mourinho.

The club sacked De Boer this week after just 14 games in charge, losing half of them, and are in a series of interviews for his replacement.

The favourite right now appears to be former Villarreal boss Marcelino, who surpassed Stefano Pioli in the pecking order after last night’s meeting.

The favourite right now appears to be former Villarreal boss Marcelino, who surpassed Stefano Pioli in the pecking order after last night’s meeting.

Other candidates are Francesco Guidolin, Vitor Pereira and Guus Hiddink, although the Dutch tactician is refusing to take part in the ‘casting call’ of interviews.

According to Tuttosport today, there are already plans for next season being drawn up and they include the return of Mourinho.

The Special One won the Treble with Inter in 2010 – Champions League, Scudetto and Coppa Italia – before walking away to take the Real Madrid job.

He is currently struggling to keep Manchester United afloat in the Premier League and Europa League.

Italian reports suggest that if Mou cannot turn things around and Inter do not find a long-term Coach, there could be a reunion in the summer of 2017.

Mourinho has never disguised his strong affection for the Nerazzurri and was visibly moved when visiting San Siro a few months ago.

His is not the only name linked with a comeback to Inter, as Diego Simeone is widely tipped to become a Coach where he had already played.
