Roberto Donadoni concedes Bologna “lost many individual duels” in their 3-0 defeat to Roma.
The Rossoblu had started very well with two great chances in the opening three minutes, but couldn’t resist the devastating pace of Mohamed Salah, who bagged a hat-trick.
“We must try to take the positives from this, even with a 3-0 result, as we knew our campaign would be a difficult one,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We must try to take the positives from this, even with a 3-0 result, as we knew our campaign would be a difficult one,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.
“Roma caused us problems on the counter and we definitely weren’t too defensive, but perhaps got a little scared. Roma’s attacks were all into space precisely because we were pro-active, but we lost many individual duels and that was the main issue.
“Fortunately going forward our fixture list should be a little simpler from now on.”
Bologna missed many top players, above all Simone Verdi, who will be out for three months following ankle surgery.
“It was a very young line-up today. It’ll be difficult to replace Verdi, while Vasilis Torosidis and Mattia Destro weren’t fully fit either. Umar Sadiq had a decent game and fought hard, although he can improve exponentially.”
