“Milan represent our first choice” for Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj, confirmed the Croatia international’s agent.
He had already been linked with a move to San Siro over the summer, where he’d reunite with former Viola Coach Vincenzo Montella.
“Milan represent our first choice, but with the arrival of the new owners of the club, we don’t know if Badelj will be the first choice for them too,” agent Dejan Joksimovic told MilanNews.it.
“In that case, we could look towards other clubs.”
The 27-year-old joined Fiorentina in the summer of 2014 from Hamburger SV for €4m.
He has already stated he has no intention of extending his current contract with the club, which is due to expire in 2018.
Milan are in the final stages of a take-over by Chinese investors, which should be completed later this month.
“He will certainly leave the club in June 2018, that is sure, though anything is possible and before that it’s up to Fiorentina to decide when to sell.
“We’ve never seen an actual price-tag for him, but knowing his contract expires in a year and a half, I’d say he’ll cost €15m max – maybe even less.
“Badelj had an excellent rapport with Montella and his current presence on the Rossoneri bench is one of the many reasons why Badelj would like to be part of Milan.”
