The 29-year-old moved to Napoli from Real Madrid in 2013, and discussed leaving the Spanish giants, revealing that he had already decided to quit the club before boss Jose Mourinho left.

But how are things going for the Partenopei forward?

"I cannot complain, things are going well and I hope to continue in this way," Callejon told Spanish radio station Onda Cero. "Leaving Spain was hard, playing at Real was my dream, but I thought it was time to leave for more playing time and in the end it was the right choice.

"I was happy, I was fine, but any player wants to find space. Regardless of Mou’s choice I had already decided to leave. I knew Ancelotti was coming but I never talked to him. The decision had already been taken.

"I was on holiday, I sent a message to Rafa Benitez and he asked me if I liked the idea of following him to Naples, it was a big project and I immediately said yes. It was the right choice."

But how has the experience of playing in Italy changed Callejon?

"The game is more tactical, teams are well organised but are much improved in this way. I feel that I have matured and become a stronger player."
