Icardi opened the scoring by converting a penalty after 17 minutes, which was earned by youth team player Axel Bakayoko.

Chiasso surprisingly equalised when Susnjar beat Samir Handanovic in a one-on-one situation, but three minutes later Senna Miangue nodded in a corner to restore the advantage.

Jonathan Biabiany added a third in the second half with a right-foot strike from just inside the box.

Naturally there were few options for Pioli, as many players are away on international duty.

The first competitive debut for the new Coach, who replaced Frank de Boer, will be the Derby della Madonnina with Milan next weekend.

Inter: Handanovic; D'Ambrosio, Andreolli, Miangue, Santon; Melo, Kondogbia; Biabiany, Gabriel Barbosa, Bakayoko; Icardi
