Pierpaolo Marino believes Manolo Gabbiadini could swap with Udinese’s Duvan Zapata, while Simone Zaza “has one foot in Napoli.”

The former Partenopei director general still keeps a close eye on his old club and is confident there’s only one course of action for Gabbiadini.

“It seems increasingly certain that Gabbiadini must leave in January, because there simply isn’t faith in him anymore,” Marino told Rai Sport.

“It seems increasingly certain that Gabbiadini must leave in January, because there simply isn’t faith in him anymore,” Marino told Rai Sport.

“In that case, Napoli would have to buy two strikers, because it will take some time for Arkadiusz Milik to rediscover his form after injury.

“It’s possible that Gabbiadini could exchange places with Duvan Zapata at Udinese.”

Colombia international Duvan Zapata is already owned by Napoli and on a two-year loan at the Dacia Arena, but could return to the San Paolo while Gabbiadini spends six months in Udine.

The 25-year-old has scored four goals in 12 Serie A appearances this season.

Another strong candidate to reinforce Maurizio Sarri’s side is Zaza, currently on loan at West Ham United from Juventus.

“I believe Zaza already has one foot in Napoli,” insisted Marino. “There’s a €50m transfer war chest that still hasn’t been spent and could be invested in January.”
