Manuel Locatelli claims he and his fellow Milan youngsters can lead the Rossoneri to success in “the next 10 years” as “something special is brewing” at San Siro.
Locatelli has been a revelation for Milan since being given his first-team breakthrough by Vincenzo Montella, the 18-year-old midfielder most notably scoring against Juventus in a 1-0 victory for the Diavolo and being summoned to train with Italy’s senior squad.
“Hard to keep my feet on the ground? I always feel like the lads of my generation from Galbiate, my town,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“If I started to think about money at my age, I wouldn’t go anywhere.
“What do I need to improve on? Physically and in keeping the ball. My objective is to prove that I can play for this Milan.
“Training with Italy? I’m happy but taking things one step at a time. I’m not expecting anything, I’m thinking about the present and keeping my feet on the ground.
“Milan’s new batch of youngsters? With us, the Rossoneri have a good project for the next 10 years. Something special is brewing.
“Objectives? Personally, continuing like this. For the team, returning to Europe.”
