Coppa: Atalanta cruise with Pescara

Atalanta set up a Last 16 clash with Juventus, easing to a 3-0 win over Pescara in the Coppa Italia.

Goals from Cristian Raimondi and Alberto Grassi quickly put the Bergamaschi in control, before a late clincher from Aleksandar Pesic.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini looked to be on the verge of the sack after a 1-0 defeat at home to Palermo on September 21, but the Orobici haven’t lost since.

Gasperini made a raft of changes for the match, with a League trip to Juve looming on Saturday night.

It was apparent early on that their fine form would continue, with Raimondi putting the hosts ahead after just seven minutes.

Grassi doubled the lead just before the half-hour mark, virtually securing Atalanta’s place in the Quarter Finals.

Both sides made changes in a largely flat second half, before Serbian forward Pesic sealed the result at the death.
