Gennaro Gattuso says Torino striker Andrea Belotti “reminds me of Andriy Shevchenko”.
The Coach worked with Belotti in his time at Palermo, and says he was crucial in convincing the Rosanero to sign the Italian international from Albinoleffe.
“When the sporting director Giorgio Perinetti and I took him from Albinoleffe to Palermo and I said he reminded me terribly of Shevchenko, people laughed at me,” Gattuso recalled, speaking to Tuttosport.
“I could see he was a player of great potential, and maybe now he’s displaying it fully but it was always obvious.
“I was lucky enough to coach him, and I knew what he could become.
“He has a very specific characteristic: he lives for the goal, and he does everything with vehemence and desire. He has poison in his veins.”
