Despite the interest from Spain, suggestions earlier this month had already ponited to the fact that Empoli could be the club to take the Brazilian from the Nerazzurri.
"Gabigol with us? It would be difficult,” Carli admitted to tuttomercatoweb. “Nobody here speaks Portuguese!
“It would be great to have him, perhaps along with [Geoffrey] Kondogbia!
“Seriously though, I prefer not to talk about the transfer market. The next few games will be very important for our league position.”
The Blues chief was then asked if he would be willing to discuss the situation with his Inter counterpart Piero Ausilio.
"We can talk about it, even though it is a little early right now. Piero is a friend and we have always had a great relationship."
