The Coach wanted to prove a point by holding his Press conference sat next to captain Benassi, a long-serving physio and historic Granata fan.

“Tomorrow Juventus will not just be up against 11 players, but against our history, the Toro population and all those who work with us,” said Mihajlovic.

“They must sweat every last drop to get the better of us. I don’t know how the derby will end, but I do know we’ll leave the pitch with our heads held high, having played in the Toro style by giving everything we’ve got.

“I want to see a beautiful derby, full of intensity, but also fair. Because the derby is not a war. The derby is the essence of football: there is intensity, effort, mocking, emotion, but it remains a game. It might make us cry or get angry at times, but it is still a game.

“Juventus are the strongest team in Italy. They have many quality players, a great club, are strong physically and technically, aggressive and dangerous in the air.

“We must put in a great performance, but so must Juve. It’s no coincidence we’ve got the third most prolific strike force in Serie A. Juve need to worry about us too, because we’ve got quality.

“Giampiero Boniperti said: Winning is the only thing that counts. As far as I am concerned, what counts is seeing my team play like Toro, because when we do, we usually win.

“Juventus are like a dragon, so when you cut one head off, another two grow in its place. I have a lot of respect for them, but no fear. We’ll do everything to beat them and achieve this satisfaction.

“The derby is a fundamental match, but it is also worth three points. Therefore we must face it with the right mentality, trying not to rest on our laurels if we win and not plunging into panic if we lose.”
