Mario Mandzukic has hit back over claims that he didn’t celebrate the victory in the Derby della Mole with Juventus teammates.

The Croatian admitted that he was disappointed to be substituted in the 3-1 victory over Torino but responded to earlier reports in Gazzetta dello Sport that his frustration continued after the event.

"For me, the team comes first," the striker wrote on his Instagram account. "As a player I always want to help my team to get a good result.

"Therefore I was disappointed to be substituted because I could not help my teammates on the pitch, while the scoreline was in the balance at 1-1.

"My good mood will not be ruined after another important victory by those who are trying to find something negative after a triumph."
