Juventus director Beppe Marotta revealed what he “fears” about Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana and discussed signing a midfielder.

It kicks off at 16.30 GMT, follow the build-up and action on the Liveblog.

“This is an important evening and we wish to improve our CV, so naturally the trophy is one we want to take home,” Marotta told Rai Sport in Doha.

“It’s a one-off game with many different aspects that could decide it. Above all we need to have strong motivation and determination.

“The Coach picks the best line-up and right now we are fortunate to have a group on the bench who can consider themselves co-starters, who can absolutely make their mark over the 90 or 120 minutes.

“I fear this Milan’s passion and lack of pressure. They were not created to win, but the club still put together a group of quality young players and a talented Coach, who can put in a performance worthy of Milan’s history.”

Marotta was also asked about the January transfer window strategy, which could include Axel Witsel from Zenit.

“We are well aware that we have a competitive squad, as shown by our results in Serie A and the Champions League. We are satisfied. We are probably seeking a midfielder to introduce into a sector that perhaps needs further guarantees, but that’s not easy because the ones we already have there are impressive.”
