Line-ups: Milan-Cagliari

Milan ended 2016 with the Supercoppa Italiana and return their focus to Serie A by hosting Cagliari, who already beat Inter at San Siro.

It kicks off at 17.00 GMT, follow the build-up and action on the Liveblog.

Vincenzo Montella won the first trophy of his coaching career, beating Juventus on penalties in Doha for the Italian Super Cup on December 23.

Due to the timing of that clash, both the Rossoneri and Juve have a Serie A game in hand, to be played on February 8.

Juraj Kucka joins Mati Fernandez and Riccardo Montolivo on the treatment table, while Manuel Locatelli starts on his 19th birthday.

Carlos Bacca and M’Baye Niang return to the line-up with Suso, moving Jack Bonaventura into a deeper role.

Cagliari have Simone Padoin suspended, while Marco Borriello, Artur Ionita and Federico Melchiorri haven’t made the trip.

The Sardinians struggled badly away from home, but their only victory this season was at San Siro against Milan’s city rivals Inter on October 16.

Cagliari haven’t beaten Milan since a 1-0 result in Sardinia in October 1998, managing only six draws from the last 25 meetings, home and away.

The Rossoblu picked up a single point from the last 13 trips to Milan, losing 11 on the bounce.
