The DS believes that Marquinhos was his biggest success in terms of profit, but how much money did he bring into the club during his tenure?

"It was a lot, but do not know it exactly," Sabatini continued in his interview with Rete 7.

"Making gains is the prerogative of my work, the important thing is to leave the squad competitive

Was selling Pjanic to Juventus a huge disappointment for the club?

"It was an operation in the transfer market like any other. There were also economic prerogatives to be respected. We received his market value."

Sabatini then went on to give insight into the transfer of Emerson Palmieri from Santos.

"He had been considered and rejected for months. Now he has become a good left-back, he will be useful for the team and will become important in the transfer market."

Does Sabatini have any regrets over Pablo Osvaldo, who left for Southampton under a cloud?

"He was one of my biggest regrets. He thought he was a rock star, he had a difficult character. But the things he did in Rome were at an extraordinary level.

"On the field the character can be simulated. I look closer at the ideas of a player. I still remember getting [Erik] Lamela from River, he won me over with his dribbling, he was like an unchained foal."

The 61-year-old concluded with his thoughts on Victor Ibarbo, who joined on loan from Cagliari in January 2015.

"He cost us nothing. It is not true that I paid €8m. I paid €2m in January for the loan, then in June he came back to me.

"He played the game of his life in the derby against Lazio. In that game we saw the real Ibarbo. He scored and immediately became a great signing."
