Serie A in ‘Boxing Day’ agreement?

Serie A has reportedly reached an agreement for games between Christmas Day and New Year to begin from next season.

According to ANSA, the council of Lega Serie A, the governing body that runs top-flight football in Italy, will define the dates for the 2017-18 campaign by the end of February.

The proposed structure is expected to include matches over the festive period, which will then be ratified by Serie A clubs at the end of April.

Serie B games were played on Christmas Eve for the first time last month, with the division achieving a turnout of six percent higher than average.

FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio [pictured] has already given his approval to the plans.
