“I need to improve so much in front of goal, to be more determined and accurate. There were some chances I wasn’t good enough to convert.

“It was really pleasing to have been welcomed by the fans and I felt very much at ease. Obviously there were unbelievable emotions flooding through me when I walked up the steps on to the pitch. It’s difficult to explain, a unique feeling.

“It’s a habit of mine before a game to inspect the pitch and I asked Gabigol if he wanted to accompany me. It’s a ritual of mine and I got to enjoy San Siro when it was still empty.

“The fans carried on cheering throughout and it is also thanks to them we were able to turn it around.”
