Hauling down Levan Mchedlidze, the 35-year-old’s blushes were spared when the resulting penalty was saved by goalkeeper Christian Puggioni.

According to La Rebubblica, Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero met with Sporting Director Carlo Osti and Technical Director Daniele Prade after the match to discuss the future of Giampaolo.

The Genoa-based outfit currently sit 13th in Serie A, but are a comfortable 14 points above the drop-zone.
