Stefano Pioli celebrated Inter’s sixth straight Serie A victory, but felt Cristian Ansaldi should not have been sent off in Palermo.

Joao Mario came off the bench to score the decisive goal at the Stadio Barbera.

“Every victory is wonderful and we knew this was going to be difficult, as Palermo played with great intensity,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.

“We didn’t allow them a single real shot on target and yet created many of our own chances. Now we’ll prepare for another important week against Pescara, Juventus and Lazio.”

Ansaldi received his second yellow card late on for a sliding tackle on Ilija Nestorovski.

“I thought it was an avoidable card that could’ve been read a different way. The pitch was wet and muddy, there were many challenges like that and Ansaldi did pull his legs back to avoid a worse collision.

“I was sent off because I wandered out of my area, but with two players down receiving treatment, I thought it would be ok. It was my mistake.

“Joao Mario did very well on the goal and we are the side who cross more than anyone else.”

Inter leapfrog Milan in the table, but the Rossoneri still have a game in hand against Bologna.

“The other teams are pushing hard and all we can do is focus on our own results. We’ll see where we are and hope the head-to-head battles go our way.”
