‘Roma waiting for Juventus slip’

Roma full-back Bruno Peres says “we need to be ready” if Juventus slip-up as the Scudetto “is our objective”.

The Giallorossi are currently just a point behind the reigning champions, although Juve do have a game in hand.

“We need to continue like this, winning game-after-game,” Peres said in an interview with Sky.

“We’re trying to get closer to Juventus, we need to be ready if they slip-up in a match.

“Can we win the Scudetto? I think so, that’s our objective. We’re doing well in every game to try and achieve it.”

Luciano Spalletti’s men haven’t concede a goal so far in 2017, scoring seven without reply.

“I think it’s a beautiful period of form. We’ve worked hard to reach this level and we need to work even harder to reach our goals.

“I think we’ve found the right balance. There’s [Federico] Fazio, [Kostas] Manolas and [Antonio] Rudiger and with Juan Jesus or [Thomas] Vermaelen when they play we’re good at the back.

“We’ve found a good way of playing.”
