It kicks off on Saturday at 17.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.
“Recent defeats are weighing on us and we want to end this negative spell,” said Maran in a press conference after four losses in five rounds.
“During a week when we were missing many players, we had to play three games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia. The only way to overcome this moment is with hard work and concentration.
“There is the sense of urgency to pick up points, but we have to learn from past mistakes and do better this weekend.”
Lazio are still pushing for a place in Europe, although they were comfortably beaten by Juventus last week.
“Simone Inzaghi has a good squad with quality and physical strength, while he managed to make them a really solid unit. They’re deadly on the counter and dangerous on set plays.
“We’ll have to keep absolutely focused throughout the game, as Lazio can really hurt us.”
Riccardo Meggiorini and Bostjan Cesar are suspended, with Nicola Rigoni and Nicolas Frey in doubt.
“Roberto Inglese only managed half of yesterday’s training session, so we’ll see how he does. Sergio Pellissier is not fit to play either. Lucas Castro and Perparim Hetemaj did not train yesterday and are to be evaluated.
“We’ll see over the next two days who is able to actually play. Valter Birsa has covered the role of an added striker in recent years, so if he has to push up into attack, we’ll need to make the most of his characteristics.”
