Roma have officially signed Clement Grenier from Olympique Lyonnais, on loan with €3.5m option to buy.
“The club is pleased to announce that a deal has been agreed with Olympique Lyonnais for the loan of Clement Grenier,” read a statement.
“The attacking midfielder joins on a temporary basis until 30 June 2017. As part of the deal, Roma have the option to make the transfer permanent.
“Grenier, 26, has opted to take the No. 7 shirt for the Giallorossi.
“During his time at Lyon he made 152 appearances, having graduated from the club's academy system. In that period he scored 18 goals and contributed 28 assists. He has five caps for France.”
The 26-year-old midfielder completed his medical this morning and assured reporters he was “ready to play straight away.”
His career has been blighted by recent injuries, including a hernia operation and fractured femur.
Grenier will not be available for Roma’s Europa League fixtures, as Lyon dropped into the tournament after finishing third in the Champions League group behind Juventus and Sevilla.
