Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is only expecting “minor” exits before Tuesday evening but insists Gonzalo Rodriguez could yet stay.
Corvino was speaking at Saponara’s official presentation as a Fiorentina player on Friday, where he also confirmed Kevin Diks and possibly Hernan Toledo would be leaving Tuscany and discussed the situations of Borja Valero, Nikola Kalinic, Milan Badelj and Martin Caceres.

Corvino was speaking at Saponara’s official presentation as a Fiorentina player on Friday, where he also confirmed Kevin Diks and possibly Hernan Toledo would be leaving Tuscany and discussed the situations of Borja Valero, Nikola Kalinic, Milan Badelj and Martin Caceres.
“Saponara? We’ve spread the cost until 2018, which allows us to save some money. It was a deal worth around €9m,” he began.
“Transfers? We have some minor work left to do, with players who have played little or not at all, wanting to leave to prove they have a future at Fiorentina.
“We’ll cater for Diks. He’s played little and had several offers. Just this morning, he came to us to express a desire to go back to a place he already knows, Vitesse.
“On the other hand, those who own Toledo are making considerations and we’re leaving the choice to them, since he’s a player we’ve loaned.
“We have to make evaluations to improve Fiorentina’s future, keeping faith with our model that some may like and some may not. We will begin making them the day after the transfer window shuts.
“Borja Valero to China? These are things I’ve only heard from you [journalists].
“Kalinic? Fiorentina aren’t a club that put out the word ‘sale’ … If anyone wants to leave, they should tell us and we’ll see what we can do. But we’ve always defended our best resources.
“Badelj? When I was at Bologna, his agent talked every day. Since I’ve been here, he’s talked less, at first every week and now every month. Roma? Ask them. You pick up on these things, we don’t talk about them.
“Martin Caceres? Sometimes we experience situations with representatives and agents who talk to you and not us.
“Gonzalo Rodriguez’s renewal? All situations start with negotiations. That’s where you can find agreements or not. Each side claims to have made a fair proposal. At the moment, a deal is still being considered.”
