Southampton and Napoli have officially confirmed that Manolo Gabbiadini has signed for the English club.

The forward has moved on a permanent basis, in what is believed to be a €17m deal, with a further €3m in bonuses.

“Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Manolo Gabbiadini,” the Saints confirmed in a video on their Twitter account.

“Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Manolo Gabbiadini,” the Saints confirmed in a video on their Twitter account.

“The 25-year-old joins from Napoli on a four-and-a-half year deal. Gabbiadini can play anywhere across the forward line, he netted 25 goals in 79 appearances for Napoli, having previously played for Bologna, Atalanta and Sampdoria.

“He’s also featured for the Italian national team, making his debut in a friendly against England in 2012.

“Now Gabbiadini makes the switch the Premier League and is looking forward to getting started with Southampton.”

Napoli also confirmed the deal with a brief statement on their Twitter account.
