Fabio Capello admits he regrets the way he left Roma for Juventus in 2004 as “I didn’t keep to my word”.

Capello famously proclaimed that he would never manage Juve while in charge of Roma but still abandoned the Giallorossi for their arch-rivals, and he accepts he should have come clean with his move, referencing Luciano Spalletti in that Coaches are “professionals”.

Capello famously proclaimed that he would never manage Juve while in charge of Roma but still abandoned the Giallorossi for their arch-rivals, and he accepts he should have come clean with his move, referencing Luciano Spalletti in that Coaches are “professionals”.   

“I remember well that I said ‘never to Juve’, but then I went there,” the veteran told Corriere della Sera.

“I didn’t keep to my word. I should’ve done what Spalletti did and say that we’re all professionals.

“I left the capital because I felt that I’d given everything in five years and that I could no longer convey my feelings to the team. It had become a routine.”
