Sinisa Mihajlovic has lost patience with his misfiring Torino strikers after a 1-1 draw at Empoli. “From now on, Andrea Belotti takes the penalties.”

The Granata had taken the lead at the Stadio Castellani with a Belotti volley off the underside of the bar, but Manuel Pucciarelli – with the aid of a puddle – made the most of the Arlind Ajeti back-pass.

Iago Falque could’ve won it from the spot, but his penalty was parried by Lukasz Skorupski.

“Unfortunately we missed our fourth penalty of the season,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We have three penalty takers – Adem Ljajic, Iago Falque and Belotti – so whoever feels best at that moment can take it. At least that was the plan. Seeing as they are always arguing and keep missing, I can say that from now on only Belotti takes the penalties.

“We are going through a difficult time, but that’s natural during a long campaign. The most important thing is to get out of this situation as soon as possible.

“We started well today, but then made some mistakes and when you miss those chances, you won’t win. Ajeti was disappointed at the mistake, I just told him that if the pitch is in that condition, you either hit the pass harder or try to chip it.

“The state of the turf didn’t help us, but every game we seem to make huge errors. When I criticise some players, I do it because I know they can handle it. Not everyone is the same and I adjust how I treat players based on their personality.

“Some are more sensitive and I cannot get angry with them. Others with more quality know that everything I say is for the good of the team, to get everyone improving.”
