"But the Coach told us to stay calm, it remains just a game of football.

"Maybe we can go home with a good result to allow us to go through at the San Paolo, a stadium that can intimidate even Real."

What does the Italian international consider to be Napoli's main strength?

"The group that has been created by Sarri, with him no one feels excluded. Everyone knows that sooner or later they will have their chance, and everyone knows what to do."

The 25-year-old was born in Naples, so how does this make him different from the other squad members?

"This increases the pressure, the fans expect more and more from me. The same happens to [Francesco] Totti, [Alessandro] Florenzi and [Daniele] De Rossi in Rome.

"I have to thank [Rafael] Benitez. With him I learned the importance of defence. Before I worried only about attacking.

"Sarri gives total freedom to me, Callejon and Mertens in the last 30 metres. He only asks us to be careful in the spaces.

"I know how to sacrifice. I have given up many things, going out on Saturday night, and staying up late with friends.

"In Naples there are many talented players who do not reach the top because they don’t have the ability to give up things.

"I owe a lot to my parents, because when I was 17-18 years old my curfew was at 22.30, while my friends were returning at 1am."
